So you’ve bought an application or game from the Google Play Store, but once you open it, you realize it’s not what you expected. Even though most apps are relatively cheap, the cost of purchasing apps you don’t like or won’t use can add up.

Thankfully, there is a way to get your money back, but you have to act fast: you can get a full refund if you return the application within 15 minutes of purchase. How do you do it? It’s simple and may be something you didn’t even notice. Read part 6 of our Google Play Basics series to find out how!

Google Play Basics Part 6: Get a refund for an app purchased in Google Play

1) Search for the application or game

Search for the app you want to return in the Google Play store.

2) Click ‘Refund Money’

Once you find the app, you’ll see that in place of the download button will be one that says ‘Refund’. Click this button, then click ‘Yes’ to confirm that you want the refund and wish to uninstall the application.

3) Rules of Google Play

Purchasing and canceling confirmations are sent by email. If you have any problems or aren’t sure about something, take a look at the rules of purchasing and returning content on Google Play.

Just remember, if you change your mind and decide to buy the application again, you won’t be able to get a refund the second time around.

Have you ever gotten a refund from the Google Play store?
